Lirondel Hazineh, MSW, RSW, PhD(c)

Lirondel Hazineh graduated with a Masters of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University, is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and is a member of the Canadian Association of Social Workers. Lirondel brings with her an extensive and diverse 20-year social work career, in various roles from front-line social worker, to clinical counsellor to supervisor.

She is currently completing a PhD in Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University. In addition to her continuing education, Lirondel has joined Calming Tree to renew her passion for the clinical counselling role. She is especially interested in working with couples, families, youth and young adults. Having worked with new and first generation Canadians, Lirondel is versed in cultural sensitivity and cross-cultural counselling. She has specialized certificates in Narrative and Family Systems therapy and training in addictions, trauma and mental health.

In working with couples, Lirondel’s approach is strength-based and solution-focused, promoting communication, intimacy, and conflict resolution. She is also able to help clients explore the cultural, family of origin and attachment differences that may impact relationships. Lirondel has extensive experience working with teens and young people, helping them to navigate life transitions and challenges and really enjoys this age group as well. Lirondel is available for appointments Wednesday and Thursday evenings as well as Saturday mornings.
