Joseph Thomas, MAAP and RP (Qualifying)
Joseph is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and has a Master's degree in Applied Psychology. Joseph has years of experience providing mental health support to students, adults, and families. Joseph is dedicated to assisting others in living a life that includes joy and fulfillment, while also providing counselling support and strategies for mental health issues. Joseph is comfortable working with clients who are experiencing: anxiety, depression, mood disorders, life transitions, immigration challenges, and relationship/family stressors.
Joseph is open-minded, empathetic, and non-judgemental in his work. He believes that his down to earth approach helps him work collaboratively with clients. And, that his work with others involves helping to identify and recognize unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours, explore ways to understand the self better, and work towards healing from experiences and wounds that may be impacting everyday life.
Joseph utilizes a number of therapeutic modalities in his work with others. He pulls from these depending on what a client needs, the goals identified, and the collaborative plan created. Joseph has training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness. Joseph is looking forward to being a supportive person on your current journey!
Joseph can provide counselling in Tamil and Malayalam languages in addition to English. He is currently available on Thursdays and Fridays, for in person, phone, and virtual appointments.
