Calming Tree Counselling (CTC) is an innovative, inclusive and dynamic private counselling practice that has been newly established in the Doon South area. While we are a fairly new agency, our practice has grown rapidly. Our office at 10 Pioneer Drive in Kitchener is located in the under-serviced south end in an accessible professional building.  At CTC our counsellors employ a personalized, holistic and client-centred approach that ensures clients feel safe, respected and understood.

Clinical Registered Social Worker-Part Time

Calming Tree Counselling (CTC) is an innovative, inclusive and dynamic private counselling practice that has been established in the Doon South area. Our office at 10 Pioneer Drive in Kitchener is located in the under serviced south end in an accessible professional building. At CTC our counsellors employ a personalized, holistic and client-centred approach that ensures clients feel safe, respected and understood.

Position

The successful candidate will provide the following:

  • Sound counselling skills, strong oral and written communication (progress notes)
  • Ability to support rapport building, teamwork and problem resolution
  • Maintenance of billing records and scheduling according to office procedures and other
  • duties as required

Hours: 6-10 hours per week

Qualifications

Education:  

  • Master of Social Work from an educational institution recognized by the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
  • In good standing with the OCSWSSW
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in mental health/clinical setting

Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of counselling interventions and clinical practice
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fostered team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent time management skills as it pertains to scheduling and documentation
  • Cultural competence and work with diverse populations is an asset

Requirements:

  • Availability to work two evenings and occasional Saturday’s
  • Clear vulnerable sector police check
  • Possesses independent liability insurance

Note: This position is currently for a part-time sub- contractor. There is the potential to build to a full-time position. Calming Tree Counselling will provide the successful candidate with a supportive environment, access to online booking software and website presence while a caseload is established. Currently Seeking:

Experienced Couples Counsellor

At this time we are specifically looking for a skilled, experienced Couples Counsellor who has a minimum of one year experience working clinically, either in private practice or within an organization. Those with differing practice specialties are still welcome to apply.
This position is currently for a part-time independent contractor. There is the potential to build to a full-time position. Flexible hours are available with the expectation to work two evenings a week and occasional Saturdays.


Calming Tree Counselling will provide the successful candidate with a supportive environment, access to online booking software and website presence while a caseload is established. Our office receives referrals and requests for a variety of relationship concerns. We work with those wanting to improve their relationships with themselves, partner, loved ones, co-workers or community. 

The position requires sound counselling skills, strong oral and written communication (progress notes) and abilities that support rapport building, teamwork and problem resolution.
The position also requires maintenance of billing records and scheduling according to office procedures and other duties as required. Cultural competence and work with diverse populations is an asset.

The successful applicant will be a Registered Social Worker and be in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Work and Social Service Work and carry current liability insurance. Play Therapist/Children’s Counsellor

Positon

The successful candidate will provide the following:

  • Play-based or child-focused counselling to children ages 3 – 13 years old dealing with a variety of presenting concerns including grief, trauma, separation/divorce, anxiety, depression, etc.
  • Work alongside parents and families providing counselling support, education and strategies to support their children
  • Create, implement and document treatment plans in a professional and timely manner as per OCSWSSW standards

Hours: 10-25 clinical hours per week

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master of Social Work from an educational institution recognized by the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers 
  • In good standing with the OCSWSSW
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in mental health/clinical setting
  • Training and experience in a preferred modality, e.g. EMDR, CBT, Solution focused, Narrative therapy, play therapy, art therapy, etc.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of counselling interventions and clinical practice with children and youth
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fostered team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent time management skills as it pertains to scheduling and documentation
