Calming Tree Counselling (CTC) is an innovative, inclusive and dynamic private counselling practice established in the Doon South Area. While we are a fairly new agency, our practice has grown rapidly. Our office at 10 Pioneer Drive in Kitchener is located in the under-serviced south end in an accessible professional building.  At CTC our counsellors employ a personalized, holistic and client-centred approach that ensures clients feel safe, respected and understood.

Our office at 10 Pioneer Drive in Kitchener is located in the under-serviced south end in an accessible professional building.  At CTC our counsellors employ a personalized, holistic and client-centred approach that ensures clients feel safe, respected and understood.

Currently Seeking:

Experienced Couples Counsellor

At this time we are specifically looking for a skilled, experienced Couples Counsellor who has a minimum of one year experience working clinically, either in private practice or within an organization. Those with differing practice specialties are still welcome to apply.
This position is currently for a part-time independent contractor. There is the potential to build to a full-time position. Flexible hours are available with the expectation to work two evenings a week and occasional Saturdays.


Calming Tree Counselling will provide the successful candidate with a supportive environment, access to online booking software and website presence while a caseload is established. Our office receives referrals and requests for a variety of relationship concerns. We work with those wanting to improve their relationships with themselves, partner, loved ones, co-workers or community. 

The position requires sound counselling skills, strong oral and written communication (progress notes) and abilities that support rapport building, teamwork and problem resolution.
The position also requires maintenance of billing records and scheduling according to office procedures and other duties as required. Cultural competence and work with diverse populations is an asset.

The successful applicant will be a Registered Social Worker and be in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Work and Social Service Work and carry current liability insurance.
