Casandra Di Benedetto, MSW, RSW
Casandra is a Registered Social Worker with her Master of Social Work degree from Dalhousie University. She received a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Waterloo and her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Wilfrid Laurier University. Casandra works with children and youth at Calming Tree. She is passionate about providing a warm, empathic, and safe space for her clients to explore their challenges and share their concerns.
Casandra has years of experience working with children and families during which time her focus has been on providing trauma-informed care and interventions. In addition, Casandra also works as crisis clinician providing risk assessments and helping to develop safety plans for clients. Casandra’s practical experience with trauma combined with her academic knowledge greatly contributes to her ability to effectively support clients through a variety of presenting challenges including those within the LGTBQ2+ community.
Casandra employs a client-centered, practical and play-based approach to counselling with children. Her therapeutic interventions include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, strengths-based therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy informed approaches and trauma-focused CBT. Casandra’s availability for appointments is Monday during the day/evening and Saturdays.
